How do scarab summons work for duels? Are there corpses in the arena, or is the skill worthless?

they do nothing for duels... they suck in general. jk they are really op for just regular farming, and require no support for them to farm at all, which allows you to gear really well for late/mid game w/o too much worrying about early

Honeslty I dont know anyone who runs an actual beetle build out side of people who random them. Theyre okay but not great when you can mass them you can have your camps covered and spend time ganking/annoying the enemy occasionally checking in on them and killing flying units as the beetles cant do jack shit to them and run and hide in a corner somewhere. Pick a skill particularly good at PVP as your off leveling ability when running beetles mass the beetles and annoy the oposing enemy.

I have used them... maybe... 8 times.. since they were brought into the game...

Which, is prolly in the bottom 10% of times I have picked a skill... However, I have only picked bash two times, and storm bolt ONCE, since I started editing. ...I hate storm bolt... Barrage, I've used maybe a dozen times... Darkness, in the past year, maybe only 15 times... Vamp soul, since it was brought down from its 60% life steal, Ive only used about 12 times...

I use a lotta skills, but i also dont use a lotta skills... so, for me, beetles isnt TOO low on the list. They really suck in competitive games, because duels are really important. However, In fun games, I run them.. I also run wolfy, with wolves, terrify, roar, sprint, and images. Why? because it is as wolfy as you can make a build!

beetles aren't feasible in a competetive game, because they don't have any secondary usage or pvp usage, if they could have a minor nuke or silence they would be pretty sick.

that would be silly? these are a non-arena skill, it is that simple... Compare their stats to any other summon, they are 2X as good, and have no death timer. Put them at any creep spawn, while you kill another, and you will outlevel anyone.

After this thread was made, i started making 1v1 beatle builds, and they are reallllly strong. Why? well, Level 10 for first duel is easy. I can spend 1/2 my time annoying the other team. they are a means to an end summon; there is no need to pick 2-3 other skills to help support them (though, i do get battle roar for them; cuz it is so damn strong)

You can easily jack other players spawns with them; and they are pro at assisting ganks. why? they are very hard to kill; an AoE isnt gonna kill them. They will block your opponent in. their damage is too high to simply ignore.

they are a field PVP skill. If you wanna see them really shine, use them in CTF or KOTH, where there are few creeps, and lots of pvp in the field.

ive been thinking of adding a ranged summon.. but they just seem so OP... or, they would have to be made really weak... in which cast 1 AoE would kill them.

get guardian ward with them, to kill air.. and you are set!

uve got watery defenders. how about watery attackers? half their hp and armor, 3 times the attack, 2/3rds the mana cost, same duration, and a truesight innate on them, to give them something extra. Very Happy

given those suggestions, they would have the highest HP and armor of all non-beetles summons; highest attack of all summons, and longest duration of all summons... with truesight?

ranged attackers would have to be like as weak as goblins, but less damage.

The only deal breaker with beetles is they can take a while to build up sometimes too long. I basically pick beetles when I plan to annoy people with parasite.

lmao, i often do the same thing; it is really 2 skills that can farm while you arent there.

the trick to beatles is, before they rank up, they summon 2 at a time. When the max is 9; you spawn 2 at once; rather than 1. so, i only level it when I can do so on the ones that have a max of 9. This allows me to put more points into of off leveled skill, while maintaining a fleet of beetles.

also, for everyone who didnt read my updates to beetles in the next edit... at max level, they have slow. thats right, fight the urge to ragequit when end game field pvp comes into play!

oh shiz, sharky brought up my main pissoff factor with beetles: the corpses last 1 second too little... ive randomed beetles a few times (albeit always on arthas or hunter or ilidan -.-), and they DO help me arm decently, but since they have terrible cast times its sooooo hard to get a bunch of beetles going. adding 1 sec to the corpse duration wouldnt make it so that corpses will cover your screen, and itll make beetles even more of an option for those nubs (such as i) who cant micromanage Very Happy
