The Brief cinematic scene at the start of the game. during this time I am loading in all the units, skills, and items to prevent lag spikes during the game and reduce loading time during the load scene.




This is the first part of the end boss fight. these are all normal units, not heroes. The Big tankish guys you see have a taunt that makes you lose control of your hero for 6 seconds. They also have good armor, a good slow, and decent HP. They have no spell reduction though. The other units all have good spell reduction, and the general is immune. the general has devotion and endurance auras. If more than 3 units take a decent bit of damage, he will use a high powered tranquility. You need to focus fire in this fight. The shaman cast a strong rejuv and bloodlust. The minions in the back are low armored, low lifed, ranged units with a decent bit of damage. They are the weakest units, so you should save them for last.




This is the second boss in the quest line. He is a normal tank and spank boss. The drawback? As you can see in the screenshot, there are little minions with some kick ass armor. They take almost no damage from normal attacks, but take double damage from spells! these little bastards have some nice very low cool down heals, and they wont think twice about casting them on the big guy. If you let too many healers spawn (they spawn every 20 seconds) then the boss will become fully healed, and you are hosed. Never fret though, bombs have spell damage! With a stack of bombs you can easily clear all of the minions on this fight. Or, use a staff spell, or just have an ally with you who has an AoE spell. The boss also has an occasional large heal he will cast on himself.




The third and final fight before you are allowed to fight rag. these guys go down easier than the previous boss, but they have a lot more damage output. the fat guy has a decent stun, some splash damage, high damage, and spirit link. the siren has sleep, a heal, and a slow attack. The siren has a cold arrow though, that adds 1500 damage per attack, costing a lot of mana. If you can make her run out of mana, her damage goes down a LOT, and she cant heal herself or fatty. Fatty has a 2k heal from items, and siren has a 1500 mana burn from items.




This is the start of the rag fight, before I hit him. Check his size and stats. Every 20 seconds he grows 20% larger, gains 1000 HP, and 100 to all stats. He is pretty easy to start, and if you have a lot of damage, he is pretty easy. With multiple weapons, he is easier than the boss fight before him! If you take to long fighting him, he turns into this:



And well, at that point; fighting him isnt fun anymore! He is big and angry and has a lotttt of stats!


Additional Rag Fight Information:
Other than archons and elementals, this is the only series of boss fights in the game.
These fights can be done multiple times
After each fight, your progress is saved, in case of duels or death.
If you do not finish a fight, you have to restart that part of the chain. (death or duels)
After you defeat rag; you can restart the entire chain quest again.

These fights are all designed to take skill, while being "easy". That is, you dont need a shit-ton of immortals to do these fights. 2 immortals plus a weapon, with just 2 players, makes these fights easy. Damage is actually a lot more important than having to stack 250 armor and 40,000 HP to survive the fights.

Im in school and I can tell you it doesnt work that way at all in order to see the replay you have to have the map. Your best shot would be to make a short clip and do a youtube many other game platforms show their new stuff that way.

Or simply do the screen shots like you did of the last one.

ohhh, rightttt... i forgot... you guys dont have my mapppp; ell ohh ell... alright, my bad... I am gonna upload them to youtube or something..

I found the software to do said thing above. however, when I made the video, it somehow saved as a 700 MB file. That totally blew my mind and my load; so until I figure out how to scale down that size, we remain movieless. The quality was really bad too.. so i dont understand how the file size was so large... gotta mess around with the program. I will have a working clip by tonight though!

HOT SHIT!!!

Alright, for some reason, I cant manage to make a small file replay that is still of reasonable quality... No joke, I made a 1.1 GIG video, of a 7 minute video... I made one that was only 80MB (still a lot for a 7 minute clip) and it looked like shit...

Stupid shit-sucking program... Anyone have a program they use to make youtube videos from their desktop?

What format are you making the video in?

You should try converting it into divx.

I belive a divx converter comes with the free install, just google divx.

i used divx >< i got a codec for my recorder to put it into like, 20 different formats. I tried most of them, and they were all rather large file sizes.

Umm I think there most be some thing up with your video program then, what resolution are you using and what sample rate? Chances are you got your sample rate set to high.

whats a sample rate?

I have my set key frames every 200 frames

capture frames every 75 ms
playback rate 15 ms

These are the options that were suggested on the site. It is just.. bad....

My resolution is pretty high, like, 500X 300 or so... but anything smaller and you cannot read the in-game text.

like, even the 80 mb videos were of shitty quality.... like so shitty, they were unwatchable

Sample rate is just anoter way of saying FPS, but it also has an effect on the audio, I am not sure of the specifics cause my knowledge in that area is rather limmited.

The bit rate is the sample rate I belive, the higher the number the larger the file.

MAP FILE ASSIATED WITH REPLAY COULD NOT BE FOUND.

This means that you need to download the map it was played on for it to work.
Unless your willing to download to every player in the clan and it not get leaked out to pubs.
Which theres a small chance that it wont.

yeah, that is why i cant just give out the file :p that plus, i saved over it, so even I cant watch it anymore. I got bored of waiting. I will get a working program working eventually.... till then, i will just use screenshots and a lot of typing to explain everything.

Lol did you download some kind of leak detection system there glorn? The new map looks good, however I would have used the other cliff type for rags area.

Lmao, yeah. With my 250 triggers; it is MUCH easier to use this system than to cover up all my leaks. It is a copy/paste system. There is no point in fixing my own leaks!

I was thinking about the other cliff type for rags area, but when I used it, it looked like shit. IT clashed with the snow tile and looked rather choppy! No idea why; but it was gross, so I stuck with the icy walls. Makes the ice walls/gates I use look a lot more.. natural. I"m not sure if they are in the screen shots or not...

when he dies or when you die. As I said, if you fail on a quest part, it resets. if he dies, then he resets.

i hate to say it but the maps looks boring only my oppion but in the other one so many things were happening now the map is uniform and plain just looking at the map texture.
I think it needs more color or less for that matter its realy bright. from what i can see.


But of course thats just my opinion.

just so everyone knows what I hope they would assume...

Right now the map is mostly plain because I want to make the game WORK, before I start playing with the terrain. I could take 4 hours and make a map that LOOKS really awesome... but without the hundreds of triggers (currently over 300 pages worth of triggers) required to make the game playable... There is no point in the game.

So yeah, the terrain in plain. It will most likely be plain until I open it up for real testing. Which wont be for 5 months or so. So, get used to the bland background screen shots ^_^

Hmm.. There's not a lot of room.
Is it possible to have a boss with a weapon that has a 50% armor reduction effect?
It's too broken to be player available but it's just to make the boss mighty no matter what items you have.

I try to stick away from percents, simply because it can make a lot of builds useless... However, giving him a stacking armor reduction or something would be cool. like a 10% on attack to lower your armor by 1. By the end of the fight you would be at like -50 armor. hmmmm.....
