PostSubject: Physical Damage?   Mon Jan 24, 2011 11:05 am

So after finding out that Volcano is physical damage, i was wondering, are there other spells/ultiamtes that are secretly physical damage i should be using corrupt flesh with?

And another thing, if volcano is still a spell, even if it is physical damage, it shouldn't affect wards should it?

btw my new build idea Tents Bonewall FrarieFire and Volcano... or switch out tents for corrupt and fararie for acid.

I believe that it might in fact kill wards. However, I am not so sure as to if it will kill YOUR wards or not.

Wrath of Hell is physical damage but it is still a spell therefore it does not affect wards.I have used tents ,fire ward and guardian and they all seem unaffected. The same is true for enemy wards.

yeah, wards are not affected by volcano, but summons are. it doesnt matter if it belongs to you, your allies, or your enemy, it doesnt affect wards but does affect summons.

as far as i could tell banish+volcano doesn't work at all, but it is hard as hell to gank someone with a banish volcano build... even in a pub.

Lol, Faerie Fire Tidal Rush/Valcano is worth a shot for team games ... just sayin.

Personally, on the Corrupt Flesh vs Fairie Fire, depends if its team or 1v1. CF for 1v1, fairie for team.

Some abilities are hybrids. Another ability that might be enhanced by subtracting their armor is locust swarm. Faerie fire vs corrupt flesh is an interesting debate personally I like faerie fire because of its low cool down and it's ability to ruin a players hopes of hiding under wind walk. You can run away and hide the affects of corrupt. Running doesn't do any good against faerie fire because two seconds later its back on you.

faerie fire may allow u to see invis, however it doesnt even nearly reduce the armor corrupt flesh would. max lvl faefire is 30 armor. Most people have more then that mid game and main leveling faefire would only be lik 7? as to where corrupt flesh reduces armor by 87 at max level, and scales much better through out the game.

-30 armor is still a pretty good amount, thought it isn't as good as -87 i agree, but the CD makes up for it. Plus if i am going to be using volcano in duels its going to be a team game anyway.

It's actually -45 armor at max level. This skill is far better then many gives it credit for being. The skill has more then triple the duration of corrupt and a 5 second cool down. I guess the major thing about this skill that many over look is it's side effect which gives vision. That doesn't just mean it reveals invisible units but it also gives you vision for a solid 25 seconds. Cast this on your opponent and they can't even dream of hiding from you in the dark.

the truesight is useless. for the money from the bottom of your pocket you can grap a gem. say its a waste of an item slot? switch it out late-mid game and get an eternal set. problem solved. and then your offensive is actually still doing something, so long as you dont allow them to go stone elemental.

the truesight is never useless. an item slot is always an item slot. If nothing else, it can be a 2000 HP potion. You really should not be getting an eternal set until you are over 1000 dmg and max attack speed... with a solid hp/armor base. The stats from eternal set are not even close to what you could be getting, in class specific items.

The see invis is a very powerful part of this ability. And as careful said... The cd/duration ratio is insane.

Corrupt flesh lasts for what.. 8 seconds? on a 16 second cooldown? that is a 50% up time.

Faerie Fire has a 25 second duration, on a 5 second cooldown. that can easily be forever on 2-3 units.

Corrupt flesh is 87 armor reduction for 50% of a duel.
Faerie Fire is what... 45 armor reduction for 100% of the duel? In all reality, faerie fire will increase your "damage per duel" by a greater amount than corrupt flesh.

I think Faerie fire is much much better as a 2v2 or 3v3 skill than as a 1v1 skill though. (same as parasite, and other very low CD durational abilities)

I think the real str of Frarie fire is it isn't as easily counterable. if you use supersonic/divine in a fight you can cause them to waste a cast of corrupt flesh. giving you a bonus 16 secs of no minus armor. however, if you have frarie fire, you don't really waste it, because the CD is short enough that by the time their invuln runs out, the CD of ff will be up and you can continue pounding ass. not to mention short cast spells work well with other single targets to destroy lightning sheilds.

sorry charge... but if you cast corrupt then they put on spell immunity with ava or w.e the armor is stuff reduced. its impossible to purge off corruption, all you can do is ww or divine to get away
